I’ve heard of a couple of these, but by no means all of them.
Anyone ever been to an abandoned town? I’ve been to some deserted old mining or farming communities in Colorado. It’s weird seeing day lilies blooming by a non-existent front porch.

We really enjoyed this place in Montana:

Ghosts towns are non-existent here in farm country — the land’s too valuable for agriculture. There’s a former coal mining town a couple of miles from where I live — 1,800 people lived there a century ago. Now it’s a railroad crossing with an elevator and 3 houses (occupied) surrounded by corn fields — absolutely no sign of mines, dwellings, businesses.
