Hey guys,

I am looking for the cheapest way to get from the Washington DC area to Europe (basically anywhere) departing September 26th or September 27th and returning October 5th. We would also be willing to fly from PHL or NYC if the price is significantly different and just catch a bus there. The plan is to be in Munich from Sep. 28th-Oct. 2 but we don’t mind visiting basically anwhere else for the rest of the week. So also, an open-jaw that isn’t much more would work as well. Thanks

Where have you already checked (so we don’t repeat efforts)? Have you tried the links and strategies in the new user thread — top of this forum?

Tried ITA and found 605 Air India to London then hopping on a cheap air option from there. That would be good especially with the companion offer, but London itself is kind of expensive. Otherwise, anything close to the city by 5 or 6 hours by train is close to $1000

Well, I got a one-way ticket from Calgary, AB, Canada to Munich for $620 (made a reserved seat or 600). I am getting a plane back from London to Calgary for $500.

What you mentioned, the $1000 seems high for a one-way. Go to a travel agent, they will have better resources, that is how I got mine to Europe at least. If your $1000 is for a return flight as well, then that seams reasonable. If your using the internet then try switching Europe destinations. Try Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin, and anywhere else. If you have been, good.

Those prices were for RT flights

Oh, then I don’t see that big of an issue. $1000 isn’t bad for a RT flight. I still would at least check with a travel agent and see what they can do, and if all they find is flights that are too expensive, then move on. BTW, my dad found a Calgary-Frankfurt Flight (Return as well) for ~$750, and he talked to a travel agent, so it couldn’t hurt to talk to one of them.
