I have heard of Clickair. They’re fairly new, probably still surviving on initial investment capital. I can only tell you what I’d do myself if I were considering them. 1. Book only via credit card. If they don’t offer that option, then I don’t deal with them. If they go belly-up, you have purchase protection from MC or Visa. 2. Become familiar with alternate routes and transports—just in case. 3. Hope for the best. Europe’s 60 or so low-cost airlines have surprised even Stelios (Easyjet) and O’Leary (Ryanair), both predicted a “bloodbath” a few years back with so many low-cost airlines competing in European airspace. So far, there’s been relatively low numbers of consolidation and losses. Fingers crossed for Clickair.
Clickair is the lowcost subsidiary of Iberia. I just flew them from Barcelona to Frankfurt yesterday and everything was fine. Check-in was quick & easy, the carry-on allowance was 20kg, the plane was relatively new, and crew was good. I did have to pay to check a bag, and the legroom was pretty miniscule – I’m a not very long-legged 5’10” (1.78m) and my knees were always hitting the seat in front of me. I paid to upgrade to a premium seat but it didn’t buy me any extra legroom, I just got to sit in the first few rows. The only way it would be worth the upgrade in terms of extra legroom is if you can get a seat in the first row. All in all, a budget option on par with others I’ve flown.

Hmm… so in other words…. book, but leave my options open?

Anyone ever used them for cheap tickets? I found it in one of the “cheap flights” links, but the site looks kinda… cheesy… I guess.
I have used this airline several (3) times. The service was good. The company belongs to Iberia Lineas Aereas.
