Uploading Pictures in Europe

This probably isn’t the right forum, but I need to upload my photos from my camera from Hostels/Internet Cafes in Europe. I have read the manual of my camera, but everything I read tells me to install the camera’s software, and obviously I won’t be able to do that. What do I do? I don’t want to spend like $100+ on memory cards.

One option is to have your memory card copied onto a CD. You can have that done at some internet cafes and photo shops with “digital service.”
Most of the camera questions are in the “packing” forum and you’ll find several posts dealing with uploading to photo storage web sites, portable drives and other options there. You’ll have to go back a ways, though — many of the posts are a couple of years old.
In a lot if the newer computers and cameras you don’t have to install a driver or anything, so plugging it in may work. What kind of camera do you have and how new is it?

Some computers, may just be laptops, I’m not sure, have a slot where you can insert an SD memory card and upload pictures straight from there. This is how I uploaded pictures to my (personal) laptop while in France and skipped bringing the camera cord thus cutting down a little on space.
The software I’ve seen is for editing pictures. The computer will recognize your camera as a USB device storing files. Simply drag and drop the files to the location you want them on.
Eat the food, use the wrong verbs, and end up getting charged double.
Is this really an issue anymore? I just bought a 2 gig card for my camera for $25. That’s 2000 images.
Got to agree with oldlady there are very cheap card’s that take a ridicules amount of picture’s for very low price’s. so you don’t need to worry about removing them from your card to free up space.
